Our 2024 C.S.A.New size this year: small, PLUG sized plants to increase plant numbers for less money. Pre-order in late winter and pick-up in May (exact date T.B.D.). These MAY or MAY NOT be ready on opening weekend.
DETAILS
Fills approximately 15 square feet. 15 small plants (plugs) that are highly beneficial to native pollinators. 5 species, 3 of each type. Varying heights and textures and will bloom across seasons. Includes a suggested design. Buy multiple kits to fill a larger area.

C.S.A. stands for Community Supported Agriculture. C.S.A.s helps farmers buy pots, soil, etc during times when funds are not coming in.

PLANT SIZE
Plug pot size will vary slightly beltween species: 3" tall x1/5" or 2"x2". See photos 2-5 for examples.

FLOWER VISITOR INFORMATION:
5 species, 3 of each. Species subject to change with any crop failure.
1. Swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)
Nectar source for the at-risk Dion Skipper (Euphyes dion). Host plant for the Queen, Solider butterflies, and the at-risk Monarch. Nectar source for the at-risk yellow-banded bumblebee (Bombus terricola) and half-black bumblebee (Bombus vagans).2. Hollow Joe Pye weed (Eutrochium fistulosum)
Nectar source for the at-risk yellow-banded bumblebee (Bombus terricola) and half-black bumblebee (Bombus vagans). Supports bumblebees, other long tongued bees, butterflies, and moths. Host plant to several beautiful moth species.3. Cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis)
The long, tubular blossom shape makes it a favorite of hummingbirds, and the flower is dependent on them for pollination. Also visited by butterflies like the Monarch and Swallowtails.4. Golden grounsel (Packera aurea)
Long blooming bright yellow flowers are visited by small native bees like: little carpenter bees and sweat bees. Being semi-evergreen, it provides winter cover for fireflies.5. New York aster (Symphyotrichum novae-belgii)
Late season blooms visited by butterflies. Host plant for Checkerspot butterflies and Pearl Crescent butterflies.
