The Friendly Lawn: A Lawn Enrichment
A native seed mix for sun to part sun and average soils, designed by Blue Stem Natives to supplement an existing lawn — keeping its function while making it more welcoming to pollinators and wildlife. Lawns have their place, but with a little help they can also support biodiversity.
This blend is inspired by research at Cornell University on native lawn alternatives, bringing those benefits right to your own yard.
Featuring 13 low-growing species, including Shortbeak Sedge, Path Rush, Blue Eyed Grass, Field Pussytoes, and Pale Beardtongue, along with pollinator favorites like Yarrow, Self Heal, and Common Blue Violet.
Each packet covers 100 sq ft (~30-50 seeds/sq ft). Order multiple packets for larger areas — a 15% discount automatically applies at checkout for seed mix orders of 10 or more.
Note: Native seeds need a cold winter period to germinate. Sow this mix in fall, or store in the fridge to sow the following fall.
