Did you know…the largest living organism on earth is a stand of American Aspen in Utah that covers 106 acres?! It’s also the oldest living organism in the world. These trees are connected by one root system so each tree is genetically idenitcal. Although the oldest tree in the group isn’t all that old, the root system has been dated to 80,000 years old. 
 
This species of tree is also known as the “quaking Aspen”. When the wind blows the leaves shake and twist giving us a treat for both our ears and our eyes. Whether the tree you choose is single stemmed or multi stemmed it’s surely going to be beautiful year round.
 
Growing up to about 50’ tall, American aspen leaves have a showy, vibrant yellow fall color. Best in full sun to part sun and amenable in dry to moist soils.
