Thalictrum thalictroides (meadow-rue)
Looking for a little spring magic? Meadow rue is one of our most beloved ephemeral treasures, bringing a delicate, fairy-tale vibe to the early-season woodland floor.
This dainty native features whorls of rounded, three-lobed leaves that look just like Meadow Rue, topped by ethereal white to pale pink flowers that seem to float in the shade. It’s a tough little survivor that handles dry summer dormancy like a pro, making it a fantastic companion for later-emerging ferns.
Pollinators like small sweat bees and syrphid flies will thank you for the early-season nectar boost while everything else is still waking up.
