Mikania scandens
Climbing hempvine
A vine to rival the non-native and overused Autumn clematis. This rambling vine is naturally found climbing on neighboring shrubs or trees in moist soils in partial shade. Also known as “climbing boneset” although neither related to hemp nor to boneset. This lovely native is actually in the sunflower family.
A vigorous grower, reaching heights of roughly 8-10 feet tall with white flower clusters similar to boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum). A nectar source for woodland butterflies and other insects.
Plants can be purchased in-person or online (with in-person pick-up).
All online orders will be ready for pick-up 24-72 hours after purchase. You will receive an email to let you know when your order is ready. We kindly ask that you pick-up any orders within one week of purchase.
