Plant information
Take a look at this little plant and think about what it might smell like. Minty? Tea-like? If maple syrup came to mind, you win! That’s right, this little plant smells like fresh maple syrup, both in the flowers and more strongly when the leaves are crushed.
 
Commonly known as Sweet Everlasting, this delicate wildflower is biennial, which means when allowed to go to seed, you will see it continue to appear in the garden. This medium sized plant has petite white flowers that form in tight buds on branches of thin stems. Once the blooms pass, the seeds are left in pods that open and disperse on the wind.
