Wooden Surface

Dryopteris cristata

The crested wood fern is partially evergreen, with the taller fertile fronds dying back in the winter and the shorter, infertile fronds staying green.

This fern, like most others, requires moist soil and shade, so it is perfect for a woodland or shade garden, perfect for areas that need winter interest.
