Dryopteris marginalis

Marginal wood fern adds lovely texture to any shaded perennial woodland garden. This mid-sized fern thrives in shade and rich, well-draining, humusy soils but is tolerant of other conditions as well.

The foliage of Marginal wood fern remains green thoroughout much of the winter. Wood ferns serve as host plants for the caterpillars of the the Marsh Fern Moth and the Conifer Swift Moth.
