Big leaved aster is appropriately named!
The star of this show is the large, heart-shaped green foliage of this herbaceous woodland perennial. The flowers that bloom in the fall are cute, but they take second stage to the foliage.
Use this plant in place of hosta for shade garden interest, and watch the butterflies visit the delicate violet-blue blossoms.
