Service Description
Many of us are familliar with the more traditional methods of seed starting using trays, heat mats, and lights, but what if we told you there is an easier way to germinate native plant (and more!) seeds, while recycling plastic AND reducing the time and energy needed to grow as many plants as your little gardener’s heart desires? This Winter Sowing technique uses recycled transparent bottles to create small little greenhouses that you put outdoors and let Mother Nature do the stratifying for you! Our workshop takes you step-by-step through the technique, including tips based on our own experiences. You will leave with a completed greenhouse setup, ready to go outside and seeds to make even more jugs! Now is the perfect time to get your hands in a little dirt and get those seeds set up for success. Limited availability for each session, sign up today Age: adult Location: Blue Stem Natives' greenhouse (376 Washington St., REAR LOT) Cost: $30 per person additional seeds will be available to buy (cash or credit card) We will have empty jugs but feel free to bring one!
