Wooden Surface

Silene caroliniana

This low-mounding flowering perennial lightly resembles woodland phlox, but prefers a sunnier location.  Wild pink is best grown in well-drained, sandy soils, this perennial does well in areas where it won’t be disturbed, so think carefully where you want to place it!

Good companions include other plants that do not like being disturbed such as Baptisia tinctoria, and Amsonia spp. The bright pink blooms entice butterflies and hummingbirds. Drought tolerant once established, this is a plant you will want for your water-wise pollinator garden.
